The Van Gogh Museum is open every day. From 2 November 2026 it opens at 9:00 and closes at 17:00, and on Fridays it stays open until 21:00. In the spring and summer of 2027 it closes at 18:00. Every visit needs a ticket with a start time.

Can I arrive after my start time?
Yes, but only after. You have half an hour after your start time to get in, and you cannot enter earlier. Once you leave you cannot come back in, so finish your coffee before you go.
How long does a visit take?
Plan two to three hours, including a break at the café in the atrium and a stop at the shop. On Fridays the museum stays open until 21:00.
What are the rules for bags and photos?
There are self-service lockers for coats, bags, small backpacks up to 45 x 25 x 25 cm and umbrellas. Larger bags and any wheeled suitcase may be refused at the door, so travel light.
You can take photos without flash, but tripods, selfie sticks and video are not allowed. Food and drinks stay out of the galleries.
